Air quality moderate in Delhi

Overnight rains led to an improvement in the air quality, with the AQI recorded at 103 which falls in the moderate category

The city woke up to a cool morning on Wednesday as the minimum temperature settled at 16.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the season’s average.

Some parts of the city received rain on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Lodhi Road recorded 6.4 mm of rain between 11.30 pm on Tuesday and 2.30 am on Wednesday, while Ridge and Ayanagar recorded 2.6 mm and 6.8 mm of rain in the same time, respectively.

While no rain is likely on Wednesday, the city may experience overcast conditions. Very light rain and thunderstorms are likely to return to the city on Friday, according to the weather office.

The maximum temperature for the day is expected to settle around 35 degrees Celsius.

According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’, and 401-500 ‘severe’.
