Police arrested a 32-year-old man in the Rohini area of Delhi for allegedly supplying counterfeit cigarettes and seized 1.2 lakh cigarettes worth around Rs 15 lakh from him, officials said on Saturday.
Police apprehended Babarpur resident Akram on September 16.
After receiving information about counterfeit cigarette movement in the Prashant Vihar area, police laid a trap near Japanese Park in Sector 10, Rohini, and intercepted Akram.
Police said five plastic bags carried by the accused were searched and found to contain 10 cartons of counterfeit cigarettes.
Police recovered around 1.2 lakh cigarettes, valued at approximately Rs 15 lakh.

Prashant Vihar police station registered a case under relevant sections of the Copyright Act, and further investigation is underway.
