Delhi on Tuesday recorded a minimum temperature of at 25.2 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees above normal, the India Meteorological Department said forecasting a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle during the day.
The maximum temperature expected to settle at 36 degrees Celsius.
While Safdarjung, Delhi’s base weather station, recorded a low of 25.2 degrees Celsius, 2.9 degrees above normal, Palam recorded a minimum of 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees above normal.
Lodi Road recorded a minimum of 24.1 degrees Celsius, 3.1 degrees above normal; Ridge 21.5 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal; and Ayanagar 23.6 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal.
Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category at an AQI of 187 on Tuesday, with 15 of the city’s monitoring stations recording ‘poor’ air quality, as the weather office forecast light rain for the day.
The AQI stood at 187, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
Of the 43 monitoring stations reporting data, 15 recorded air quality in the ‘poor’ category, 27 in the ‘moderate’ category and one in the ‘satisfactory’ category. Dwarka Sector 8 recorded the highest AQI at 285 at 9 am.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
