Founded in 1951 by the Government of India with UNESCO’s help, this historic multi-floor library guarantees access to knowledge for all citizens. Entry and reading room access are free for everyone, with minimal subscription fees for borrowing privileges.

This is a quiet literary sanctuary in the heart of Hazrat Nizamuddin Basti. The library inside the academy houses an extensive public reading room and library dedicated to classic Urdu poetry, literature, and period archives, alongside an art and historical museum with zero entry charge.
