Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday unveiled a new digital platform designed to eliminate handwritten documentation and reduce paperwork in medico-legal cases and post-mortem reporting.
Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the Medical Legal Examination and Post Mortem Reporting (MedLEaPR) platform enables the electronic submission of medico-legal case (MLC) and post-mortem reports (PMRs), according to an official statement.
The platform was formally launched at the Delhi Secretariat, with Delhi ministers Ashish Sood, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar Dharmendra, and senior officials from the Delhi Police, home department, and NIC in attendance.
“With MedLEaPR, transparency and efficiency in judicial processes will be significantly enhanced,” said Chief Minister Gupta at the event. “The secure, centralised digital platform ensures accountability and confidentiality while allowing for quicker and more precise documentation.”
Key features of MedLEaPR include a centralised database, robust access controls, secure data storage, and a comprehensive audit trail.
Officials noted that the system will protect sensitive information and improve coordination between hospitals, police departments, forensic laboratories, and judicial bodies.

Gupta also emphasised that MedLEaPR is now fully integrated with the national Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), allowing for real-time data exchange between agencies. “This initiative reflects our government’s strong commitment to e-governance and aligns with the Digital India vision,” she added.
Authorities expect the platform to reduce procedural delays, enhance inter-agency coordination, and improve the overall efficiency of the criminal justice system.
