The Delhi government on Monday unveiled the Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme, offering free healthcare worth up to Rs 10 lakh to residents aged 70 years and above.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, distributed the first Vay Vandana health cards to beneficiaries at a ceremony held in the capital.
Under the scheme, senior citizens will receive annual medical assistance of Rs 5 lakh at no cost. An additional Rs 5 lakh in coverage will be provided under a Delhi government initiative, bringing the total health cover to Rs 10 lakh.
Each registered beneficiary under the Vay Vandana Yojana will be issued a unique health card, which will securely store their complete medical history, details of regular health check-ups, and emergency service information.
