Chief Minister Atishi announced that the foundation stone for a new Delhi Metro corridor connecting Rithala to Kundli will be laid on Sunday.
In a press briefing, she stated that the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project, linking regions across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, will also be inaugurated alongside the extension of the Delhi Metro Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park.
Atishi highlighted that the Delhi government has contributed Rs 1,260 crore to the RRTS project, which is a joint initiative funded by the Centre and the governments of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
“The Rithala-Kundli metro corridor and the RRTS project mark a significant step toward enhancing inter-state connectivity and addressing transport challenges,” she said.
She also emphasized that the Magenta Line extension will boost accessibility in West Delhi, reduce travel time, and make commuting more convenient.
The RRTS project prioritises the development of three key corridors: Delhi-Alwar, Delhi-Panipat, and Delhi-Meerut. These corridors aim to connect major regions across participating states.

According to Atishi, these initiatives will improve the public transport network, ease traffic congestion, and play a crucial role in driving economic growth in Delhi and its neighbouring states.
