Walking briskly with their leash on, eating the best of the pet food and getting clicked with their parents, the sunny Saturday afternoon at the Ohhla NSIC ground was a delight for pets across Delhi.

Hundreds of dogs, cats and even rare pets like Iguanas came with their loving pet parents at the 8th edition of the Delhi Pet fed – a festival dedicated to celebrating the love and bond between pets and their parents.

The two-day event witnessed huge crowds on Day 1, with different breeds of dogs, cats and birds at the festival. Shubhangi Sharma, who has been parenting her dog, Boozo – a golden retriever- for over three years, says, This is our first time here. Discovered the fest on Instagram, and Boozo was thrilled to meet new furry friends.”

“Boozo seems to be loving it. The activity area had few games which it really enjoy,” she added while patting an excited Boozo.

Many pet parents like Shubangi Sharma, came with their pets. The festival had various games and fun activities for pets, especially dogs.

Moreover, The international cat show was a center of attraction on the first day, with over 300 cat participating in the event. The diverse breeds — Persian, Maine Coon, Bengal and several others — each had their moment in the spotlight.

Whereas, Labrador, Golden Retriever, pugs and even a few Greyhounds were among the breeds of dog, which had an overwhelming presence at the festival.

“Delighted to see the overwhelming response on day one of Pet Fed Delhi! Witnessing 1800+ pets and 11,000+ pet parents come together is heartwarming. It reaffirms our belief in the incredible bond between humans and their furry companions. It’s more than an event; it’s a collective celebration of the unconditional love, companionship, and sheer happiness that our furry friends bring into our lives,” Akshay Gupta, Founder, Pet Fed.

Established in 2014 by Akshay Gupta, Pet Fed has evolved into Delhi’s premier pet celebration. The festival not only provided a platform for pets to frolic but also featured shops offering a range of pet essentials, from food to clothing.

Apart from this, the event also had selfie corners where pet owners were seen clicking their beloved furry animals. For many pet parents like Arshad who had come with his cat, Sushi, the event was also an opportunity  to connect to other pet parents.

“I attended the festival with Sushi last year as well. It is great to be here. You get to meet different pet parents and make a bond with them,” said the 25-year-old Delhiite who adopted a cat a few years ago.

In addition to shopping, food stalls, and play zones, the festival featured veterinarians and experts offering valuable advice to pet parents. As a special gesture for this edition, paw parents bringing their street animals received complimentary passes, emphasizing inclusivity in celebrating the love between pets and their parents.
