The Union government intends to establish a ‘Tech Museum’ in the national capital to exhibit the emerging and future technologies of India. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the primary construction agency of the government, has issued a request for proposal to seek consultancy services for planning, designing, and developing this cutting-edge museum at the Nav Bharat Udyan on the western banks of the Yamuna river.

As outlined in the documents, the ‘Tech Museum’ is envisioned as a premier exhibition space with a primary goal of enhancing visitors’ comprehension of India’s latest technologies and instilling pride in the nation’s achievements across various fields.

The exhibits are expected to utilize futuristic, state-of-the-art technologies such as 3-D mapping, touch-enabled displays, AV projection, holograms, multi-touch interactive tables, touch kiosks, QR Code information, LED projection walls, and modern acoustics to create a seamless and immersive experience for visitors.

The CPWD stated in the request for proposal that the Tech Dome should be a technological marvel that leverages the most effective communication tools without being tied to any specific technology, in line with the exhibition environment.

The selected consultants will be responsible for designing the tech museum, generating content based on approved themes, and developing and implementing advanced technologies to present the content, ensuring a world-class experience for visitors.

The Nav Bharat Udyan, situated on the western bank of the Yamuna, is part of the government’s Central Vista redevelopment project, which aims to visually integrate the Central Vista Axis from 2.9 km to 6.3 km, extending from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate.

At the culmination of the Central Vista’s virtual axis on the western banks of the river, the Central government plans to establish the Nav Bharat Udyan, spanning 30 acres of land, where the Technology Museum will be situated.

The deadline for bid submissions is October 6th, and the request for proposal (REP) will be opened on the same day.(With inputs from PTI)
