Maximum temperature in Delhi likely to climb to 43 degrees today

The national capital is expected to experience heatwave conditions on Monday, with the maximum temperature reaching approximately 43 degrees Celsius, MeT officials said.

The morning was hot and sunny, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.3 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than the average for this season.

The weather office predicts a partly cloudy sky throughout the day, accompanied by strong surface winds.

On the previous day, some areas of the city witnessed temperatures surpassing 45 degrees Celsius, with Najafgarh recording the highest temperature at 46.3 degrees Celsius, as reported by the India Meteorological Department.

Several observatories in Delhi recorded high temperatures, including Narela and Pitampura (45 degrees Celsius), Ayanagar and Ridge (44 degrees Celsius), and Palam (43.8 degrees Celsius). The Safdarjung observatory registered a maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above the seasonal average. (With inputs from PTI)
