Ahead of the AAP’s planned protest against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Tuesday that entry and exit gates at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station would be closed for security reasons.

Restrictions have also been imposed on entry and exit at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations.

In a statement posted on social media, the DMRC stated, “In view of security concerns, entry and exit at Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station, Gate no. 3 of Patel Chowk Metro Station, and Gate no. 5 of Central Secretariat Metro station will remain closed until further notice.”

The AAP plans to encircle Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence to express its opposition to Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Kejriwal was arrested by the central agency in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy and is currently in ED custody until March 28.
