
Two brothers sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a house in Ajmeri Gate area of central Delhi, officials said on Friday.
According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), information regarding the blaze was received around 11.25 pm on Thursday from a house in Mohalla Nitaryana, behind GB Road near Ajmeri Gate. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
By the time fire personnel reached the house, the blaze had already caused burn injuries to two occupants, who were shifted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital by PCR and local residents, officials said.
The fire was confined to the kitchen of the house, and was brought under control, they said.
The injured were identified as Waris (14), who suffered around 35 per cent burns and Fareed (18), who sustained nearly 20 per cent burns.
Doctors at the LNJP Hospital are treating the injured and their condition is being monitored, officials said.
Police and fire officials are probing the exact cause of the blaze.
