The national capital experienced a chilly morning on Saturday as the minimum temperature dipped to 15.8 degrees Celsius, which is three notches below the season’s average.
The city woke up to a misty atmosphere, accompanied by relative humidity of 83 percent at 8:30 am, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Despite the early morning chill, Delhi’s air quality remained a cause for concern, registering in the ‘poor’ category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data around 9 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi stood at 219. The AQI scale categorizes this level as ‘poor,’ indicating potential health impacts for sensitive groups.
The weather department forecasts mainly clear skies throughout the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius. Delhiites are advised to take necessary precautions due to the prevailing poor air quality, as an AQI between 201 and 300 falls under the ‘poor’ category, which can have adverse effects on health.
