Pracheen Kala Kendra, a prominent cultural institution, is set to hold the 12th Guru ML Koser Festival of Music and Dance on November 9 and 10. The event will take place at Kamani Auditorium, beginning at 6:00 PM each evening.
The two-day festival will showcase a series of performances by distinguished artists, highlighting classical Indian music and dance. On the opening day, audiences can look forward to a Santoor recital by Pandit Abhay Rustom Sopori, a vocal performance by Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi, and a Sarod recital by Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. The following day will feature a Sitar recital by Adnan Khan, an Odissi dance performance by Vidushi Meera Das and her troupe, and a Kathak solo by Vidushi Madhumita Roy Misra.
These performances will be accompanied by esteemed musicians, including Pt. Satyajit Talwalkar on tabla, Chanchal Singh on Kashmiri wasul, Abhishek Mishra on tabla, Vinay Mishra on harmonium, Ustad Akram Khan on tabla, Ashish Gangani on pakhawaj, Jaydeep Sinha on vocal, and Saleem Kumar on sitar.
“We are honoured to organise this festival in memory of Guru ML Koser, a legendary musician and educator,” said OP Jain, Secretary General of Pracheen Kala Kendra. “This event is an opportunity to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage and support the classical arts”.
The Guru ML Koser Festival of Music and Dance is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
