Aayam Institute of Performing Arts, led by dancer and choreographer Sindhu Mishra, will present its acclaimed production Nav Durga – She Is Many. She Is One. at Bharat Parv on January 26 and 27. The performance will take place at 6 pm at Netaji Subhash Marg, Lal Qila, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi.
The production is a meditative invocation of Shakti—the cosmic feminine force understood as creator, protector and source of balance. Drawing from Hindu philosophy and devotional tradition, Nav Durga reflects on the Devi as strength and compassion, courage and grace, intelligence and beauty, present within all beings and across the universe.
Conceived at a time of growing social and moral turbulence, the work turns to feminine energy as a source of truth, justice and renewal. Through movement, rhythm and music, it seeks to reconnect with ideas of harmony and collective resilience.
The choreography reveres the nine forms of the Devi through the Nav Durga Stotram composed by Adi Shankaracharya. Each form is expressed through a distinct raagam, while the taalam follows the rhythmic energy associated with that manifestation, allowing music and movement to work in close dialogue.
