The second edition of Nrityadhara – Dwitya, a Bharatanatyam showcase celebrating the journey from a student’s first steps to the pinnacle of mastery, will take place on January 11, at the Little Theatre Group (LTG) Auditorium. Organised by Aayam and guided by Bharatanatyam guru Sindhu Mishra, the event will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Under the choreography and vision of Sindhu Mishra, the performances draw inspiration from the traditional style of Guru KN Dandayudhapani Pillai. The event will highlight the essence of Bharatanatyam, emphasising the interplay of nritta (pure dance), bhava (expression), and tala (rhythm) while staying rooted in the classical tradition.

The program will begin with Pushpanjali, an offering of flowers to the divine, the guru, and the audience, set to Raagam Bowli and Talam Adi, with music composed and sung by G Elangovan. This will be followed by Dhyaan Shlokam, a spiritual invocation dedicated to Lord Shiva, with compositions by Sudha Raghuraman.

The evening will continue with Shivashtakam, which portrays Lord Shiva’s grandeur and cosmic power through verses by Adi Shankaracharya, set to Raagam Bhupali and Talam Khand Chaapu. Another highlight will be Ram Chandra, a soulful interpretation of Tulsidas’ bhajan, set to Raag Sindhu Bhairavi and Adi Taal.

The program will also feature Bho Shambho, a devotional hymn celebrating Lord Shiva’s ascetic and cosmic nature, set to Ragam Revati and Talam Adi, composed by Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

The evening will conclude with a vibrant Thillana, a rhythmic finale in Raagam Paras and Talam Adi, composed by Poochi Sreenivaasa Aiyyangaar, celebrating Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
