Parampara Series: A festival of music and dance

Natya Tarangini founded by the Padma Bhushan-winning dance duo Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy is soon to host the 27th edition of its spectacular music and dance festival  titled ‘Parampara Series ’. The festival is an endeavour to promote creative arts in the country.

The festival will be celebrated by presenting national and international artists for three days starting from October 6.

Not just the young generation of artists but even the veterans will be performing at this event.  The festival will see performances by Shubha Mudgal, Fareed Hasan Khan, Mehboob Hussain Khan, Santosh Nair – Sadhya, Bickram Ghosh and Vaibhav Arekar – Bharatanatyam.

There will also be a special appearance by artiste and founder duo Dr Raja and Dr Radha Reddy. Their performances for decades globally have gained them a reputation for perfection of technique.

Raja Radha Reddy, responsible for putting Kuchipudi Indian classical dance on the cultural map of the world, told Patriot, “The Parampara series continues today as a movement to preserve and enrich the cultural mosaic of our everyday life. We take pride in successfully creating a single platform for connecting people, bringing all artists and art lovers together in the capital of India.”

This institution paves an exemplary path for the world at large,” he said.

“In a spirited endeavor to perpetuate our cultural legacy for posterity, we proudly curate the Parampara Festival, which serves as a vivid testament to the magnificence of Bharat, nurturing our cultural roots for generations yet to come,” he added.

Over the years, the Parampara festival has been touted as a custodian of arts. In its previous editions, it has given space to acclaimed national and international artistes and groups like the Moscow Classical Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, flamenco dancer Jose Porcel, Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Pt Birju Maharaj, among others. The festival is known for celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India and has been previously inaugurated by dignitaries like the late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr Manmohan Singh, and L K Advani.
