The Prasiddha Foundation, founded by renowned dancer Prathibha Prahlad, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a grand three-day dance festival, ‘Prasiddha@40 – A Golden Era Redefined’. The event will take place on March 10, 11, and 12, at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre.

The festival will feature ‘Rāmāyaṇa Chaitrāvali’, a unique presentation of untold stories from the Ramayana, blending classical dance, storytelling, and music. Distinguished guests will inaugurate the event, marking its significance as a major cultural milestone.

The opening day will showcase ‘Samarthya – The Women of Ramayana’, a dance-theatre production that highlights the strength and sacrifice of the women in the Ramayana. Conceptualised and choreographed by Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad, the performance will bring together classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, and Mohiniattam.

On the second day, the festival will present ‘Ekam Sat’, a production that explores the idea of divinity beyond forms and names. Directed by Prathibha Prahlad, the performance is co-choreographed by leading classical dancers and will offer a spiritual experience through dance. Following this, three solo dance dramas will bring fresh perspectives on key characters from the Ramayana. Surya N. Rao’s ‘Rāvana – The Untold Story of the 11th Head’ will delve into Ravana’s inner conscience. P. Praveen Kumar’s ‘Saumitri – The Epitome of Unwavering Loyalty’ will portray Lakshmana’s unwavering devotion. Nidhaga Karunad’s ‘Vāyu Putra – Bhakti Redefined’ will present Hanuman’s unparalleled dedication to Lord Rama.
