A solo exhibition titled Samarpan: The Art of Remembrance by artist Amrita Ghosh is currently on view at Dhoomimal Gallery, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Organised by Artrise Art in collaboration with Dhoomimal Gallery and curated by Jyoti A. Kathpalia, the show opened on August 22 and will continue until September 22. The gallery remains open daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The exhibition draws inspiration from the poetry of Jibanananda Das, particularly his renowned collection Rupasi Bangla (The Beauteous Bengal). Through mixed-media works on gauze, Ghosh revisits the landscapes and memories of her native Bengal, weaving together text, imagery, and motifs such as Shiuli flowers that evoke the spirit of home and nostalgia.
In her works, Ghosh combines collages, embroidery, newspaper cuttings, tea liquor, acrylic, and ink, creating layered textures that echo memory’s hazy yet enduring quality. The interplay of poetry and painting forms the core of the show, with rural Bengal reimagined through both verse and visual metaphor.

Curator Jyoti A. Kathpalia notes, “Childhood spaces remain in the soul as memory escapes—tender with remembrance and charged with the pull of longing to go back.”
The exhibition is open to the public and is expected to attract art lovers, collectors, and those drawn to the interplay of literature and visual art.
