In a surprising turn of events, pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were seen dining together at a restaurant in Montreal on July 28, 2025. The sighting comes just weeks after Perry reportedly ended her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom.

According to People, the duo shared a meal at Le Violon, a local restaurant in the Le Plateau neighbourhood. During their visit, they were seen meeting with Chef Danny Smiles and later made their way to the kitchen to express their gratitude to the staff.

Entertainment portal TMZ, which published photos of the two during the outing, reported that the dinner included cocktails and a selection of dishes, one of which was a lobster-based entrée.

As of now, neither Perry, 40, nor Trudeau, 53, has made any public statement regarding their meeting or any possible connection between them.

Earlier this month, Perry and Bloom confirmed their separation after ongoing speculation. A statement released by the couple’s representatives to Page Six said, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”

The statement continued, “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

Perry and Bloom first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and got engaged three years later on Valentine’s Day in 2019. Their daughter, Daisy Dove, was born on August 26, 2020.

Trudeau, meanwhile, announced his separation from Sophie Gregoire, his wife of 18 years, in August 2023. In a social media post at the time, he said, “Sophie and I would like to share that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate.”

He added, “We remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy.”

Trudeau and Gregoire share three children: Xavier, 17; Ella-Grace, 16; and Hadrien, 11.
