Royal Enfield has expanded its lineup with the launch of the Scram 440, a rugged and stylish scrambler designed for adventure enthusiasts. Unveiled at Motoverse 2024, the Scram 440 starts at Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Trail variant, with the higher-spec Force variant also available. Positioned against the Triumph Scrambler 400X, this new model builds upon the legacy of the Scram 411 with a more powerful engine, enhanced features, and a refreshed design.

Design and Aesthetics: A Blend of Retro and Modern

Retaining the classic scrambler DNA, the Scram 440 sports a round LED headlamp, a robust fuel tank with Royal Enfield’s signature badging, and an exposed frame that enhances its rugged appeal. The bike features a single-piece seat, providing comfort for long rides, while customers can choose between 19/17-inch spoke wheels or alloy wheels, exclusive to the Force variant. It comes in five colour options: Trail Green, Trail Blue, Force Teal, Force Grey, and Force Blue.

Chassis and Suspension: Built for Versatility

The Scram 440 is constructed on a half-duplex split cradle frame, ensuring durability and stability on various terrains. The suspension setup includes 41 mm telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock with linkage, promising a balanced ride.

Braking is handled by a 300 mm front disc with a two-piston floating calliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston floating calliper. Weighing 187 kg (dry), the bike features a digital analogue instrument cluster for essential ride data.

Performance and Engine: More Power, More Thrill

Under the hood, the Scram 440 houses a 443 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 25 hp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. A six-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch ensures smooth power delivery.

With its blend of retro styling, modern performance, and adventure-ready capabilities, the Scram 440 strengthens Royal Enfield’s presence in India’s growing scrambler segment.
