Jasprit Bumrah out of T20 World Cup due to injury

Just after a wonderful bowling performance when it felt like Team India’s bowling struggle might come to an end today comes a setback that might heavily impact India’s chances in the upcoming World Cup. 

India’s leading speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup in Australia due to a back stress fracture. 

“Bumrah is not going to play the T20 World Cup for sure. He has a serious back condition. It’s a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months”, a senior BCCI official confirmed.

Jasprit Bumrah is the second player after Ravindra Jadeja who fell prey to injury and was ruled out of the World Cup. 

The speedster also missed out in the Asia Cup, the third T20 International against Australia and the first T20 against South Africa. It was believed that the yorker king would be fit to play until the World Cup and would be one the biggest assets for the team. 

Bumrah’s record in the World Cup has been prolific. He has played two T20 World Cups for India and has picked up 11 wickets with an average of 22.55 at a miser economy of 6.41 runs per over and takes a wicket in every 3 overs. 

It is to be believed that either Mohhammad Shami who was rested for the first match against South Africa awaiting his Covid test results or Deepak Chahar who bowled an impressive spell against the Proteas last night is going to replace Bumrah. 

However what bothers the Indian team is the kind of impact these bowlers can have. 

Bumrah’s slingy action and toe crushing yorkers are going to be missed for sure but the already weak bowling attack has a lot to figure out if the team wants to brings the cup after 15 long years.
