As two of the in-form teams collide this IPL season, Patriot gives an exclusive preview of this mouth watering encounter

It is the clash of the titans of IPL’2020 as Delhi Capitals, who lie first in the table battle it out on the 22 yards vs 2nd placed Mumbai Indians. When the sides who have been consistently doing well in the current season of the Indian Premier League, will face each other on Sunday, eyes will be on those who will come out on top as it may determine who will have the upper hand going forward in the tournament enroute to the playoffs.

The top-order batting of both the top-placed teams is strong and the middle order extremely dependable. Along with this, both have a sharp bowling attack. A score of 170 on the big ground of Abu Dhabi would be called good but given the batsmen of Mumbai and Delhi, the score of 200 runs is also not safe.

Shikhar Dhawan will have to give Delhi a good start. Despite a good start by the Capitals in many matches, he has not been able to deliver that big innings that people expect of him.  This will also be the test for youngsters Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant who will face the lethal pace trio of Bumrah, Bolt and Pattinson. The experience of Dhawan to face this lethal pace trio upfront may come in handy for the Capitals and ease the pressure on the youngsters.

The good thing for Delhi is the return of form of the Caribbean big hitter Shimron Hetmyer who performed brilliantly against the Royals. Captain Shreyas Iyer himself is in excellent form. It has to be seen how he captains Rohit Sharma and Company.

Though Delhi have been on the form of their life this season, it is Mumbai Indians that have the upper hand in terms of experience. Jaspreet Bumrah and Trent Boult have years of experience and can prove decisive.

Mumbai have all-rounders like Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard who can turn the match around on their own. Krunal Pandya has also proved useful. On the other hand, Delhi has an exciting in for Marcus Stoinis who has proven handy with both bat and ball.

Delhi have in-form fast bowlers in the form of Kagiso Rabada and Enrich Nortje. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also performed effectively. The lack of injured Amit Mishra has been completed by Akshar Patel.

This will definitely be a juicy encounter, as Delhi looks to cement their place on the top of the table.
