Bhopal-based contemporary artist Anjali Prabhakar, who is known for her thought-provoking paintings on the relationship between men and women, is going to Exhibit Art works at Aifacs Art Gallery.
A passionate artist since 1994, Anjali’s oil canvasses act as windows into the spiritual and emotional connection between the two genders. Her style is figurative with elements of abstraction and imagination fused into it. As a visual artist with multiple muses, Anjali also likes to take inspiration from Gond folk art for her creations.
Anjali began her foray into art back in 1994 to quell her “emotional attachment” for art in every form – be it dance, music or painting. “I eventually chose art as a medium of expression due to family restrictions against performing music and dance. While I was dedicated to my passion of painting, I could fully invest myself after my children grew up and I took it up professionally,” she said.
Her career in art brought her accolades both at home and abroad. Anjali has also participated in the official attempt of Guinness World Record.
“What attracts me to art the most is its spirituality. I have also been into recce healing so there is a bit of that connection I feel in art. There is a beaming ray of hope hat one can express through art even in the face of adversities,” Anjali added.
Viewers and art lovers will be able to catch works done in the signature style of the artist, at the grand-scale exhibition. She also sensitively portrays the incarnation of women embodied in various forms, using rich deep tones to give her painting a strong visual appeal.
