Lokyata Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition titled ‘Different Strokes 2023’ by Bharati Shah from February 24 – 27, 11 am to 7 pm.
Abstractionism in art is essentially beautiful, for it does not attempt to portray an accurate representation of realism, but prefers to use shapes, colours, shades, forms, lines, textures and signs to achieve its effect. Ahmedabad-based self-taught artist and philanthropist Bharati Shah’s abstract works are a reflection of her subconscious self that sees no bounds or limitations to the free flow of thoughts and energies.
She draws upon new shades of vibrant colours with bold strokes, adding new layers of visual appeal, sense of peace and grace. Expelling traditions and conventions, yet contemporary in nature, her artworks draw inspiration from one of the famous quotes by Pablo Picasso that says: “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
Pursuing her passion for painting for more than two decades, with many solo shows, virtual and group exhibitions to her credit, her creations are truly a sight to behold for art enthusiasts and lovers. Using mixed mediums of oil, acrylic and water-colours, her artworks have been adorning the walls of both public and government offices, both national and international forums in the UK, UAE and the US through years.
The guests of honour, who will inaugurate the showcase are Slobodan Uzunov, Ambassador of North Macedonia, Naresh Kapuria, senior artist and gallerist at Lalit Art Junction, and Jiten Hazarika, senior artist and recipient of Pranab Baruah Award.
