Sangeet Kala Samman Samiti has announced an exciting event for music lovers – a “Classical Music Concert” on April 29, 2023, which is a Saturday. The event will take place from 7 pm onwards at Amaltas Hall, India Habitat Centre, located in the heart of New Delhi (entry from gate number 3 on Vardhaman Marg).
The program will feature some of the most promising young musicians in the country, accompanied by renowned artists.
The guests of honour for the evening will be two accomplished musicians – Vidushi Prof Anupam Mahajan, a renowned Sitarist and musicologist, and Pandit Santosh Nahar, a renowned violinist and Director of AIR.
The program promises to be an evening of enchanting melodies, featuring talented musicians like Adhiraj Chaudhuri on the sitar, accompanied by Adnan Khan on tabla. Rahul prakash,vocalist will also present his vocal recital with Shanti Bhushan on tabla and Dr Ravi Pal on the harmonium
Padmbhushan Pandit Gokulotsavji Maharaj, the founder of Sangeet Kala Samman Samiti society and the senior-most Indian classical virtuoso, told Patriot that the Samiti has been actively promoting and preserving Hindustani classical music among the masses for more than 20 years.
He said that the society has conferred the prestigious Swar Samman and felicitated senior classical musicians like Vidushi Shanno Khurana, Malti Gilani, Pt.Abhay Narayan Mallick, Pt.Sunil Mukherjee, and Pt.D.K.Datar, among others.
The Samiti is also committed to promoting and propagating Hindi through classical Raga-based compositions, he added.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity for me to perform in this esteemed music event. During my performance, I will present a few compositions with improvisations that I learned from my illustrious Dada Guru, Padmbhushan Late Pt Debu Choudhuri ji, and my father, Late Pt Prateek Choudhuri. They were both renowned sitar exponents of the Senia Gharana,” said musician Adiraj Choudhuri.
