Gallery ACF at Defence Colony has launched an “exceptional group art exhibition” – ‘Kala-e-prakriti’ – that promises to captivate art enthusiasts while promoting the beauty of art in our everyday lives.

Dedicated to the environment, this exhibition serves as a platform to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues, the deteriorating conditions and the urgent need for action against climate change. ‘Kala-e-prakriti’ serves as a stepping stone for the artists, enabling them to gain recognition and expand their artistic horizons.

Recognising the financial constraints that can hinder art acquisition, the gallery ensures that all artwork showcased during the exhibition is affordably priced. This approach allows art enthusiasts to engage with and purchase stunning works of art, regardless of their budget.

To further enhance accessibility, the exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated E-catalogue, providing a virtual experience for those unable to attend the physical event or to just help individuals revisit and appreciate the artworks.

Meet the artists

Tushita Singh graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat in May 2004. She has since worked as an Apparel Designer with various export and buying houses and engaged with buyers worldwide for top brands including Massimo Dutti, Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, Mango, Hallhuber, Anthropologie, and Free People. She completed her Post Graduation in Cultural Management from the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, and Post Graduation in Indian Aesthetics from Jnanapravaha, Mumbai.

Ira Nagar is an independent artist and freelance illustrator based out of Delhi, India. Born and brought up in Lucknow, Ira is a self-taught artist who creates artworks in oil and watercolour. As a professional artist, Ira is an erotica, mountainscape enthusiast, and painter. She has exhibited her works in offline and online exhibitions alike. There is a word in Urdu, Sukoon, which translates to peace/tranquility in English. Art is what brews that feeling of Sukoon in her. For Ira, the willingness to create any piece of art comes from a place of passion and emotions within her. It is what gives her the chance to create something that resonates with her inner self.

Sanjeev Tondo, a freelance artist and illustrator who loves to paint anything and everything, from abstracts to realism. He is a Postgraduate from Delhi, having knowledge of photography, and acting, and has worked as a graphic designer for the last 30 years. He has won various awards in the field of art.

Pankaj Malasi completed his BFA from the College of Art, Delhi in the year 2018 and his MFA from Kala Bhawna(Shantiniketan). His works are based on process of the engagement with geographical and social gaze. He was specifically interested in representing the relationship between humans and Nature. ln respect to this his work tries to find different tools of representation in visual culture. Also, his works deal with environmental themes in this aspect of making and addressing issues like global warming and other themes which are related to Nature. His practice moves between traditional tools like drawing, painting, and performance art and focuses on the relationship between self and material culture in a hybrid society.

Kavita Rattan completed her BVA from MSU, Baroda. Her artwork is related to the environment and day-to-day life objects. She creates objects for daily use in her work that combine nature and furniture, which are also a part of interior design. In her work, she uses wood, metal, and Fiberglass. She also promotes sustainability, nature, and the reuse of materials and object
