Police on Friday said a 40-year-old man died on Friday after he allegedly jumped onto the tracks at the Delhi Metro’s AIIMS station.
According to the police, the man, identified as Amit Singh from Bihar, allegedly jumped onto the tracks around 10 am. Regrettably, he hit his head during the incident and died on the spot.
Upon being informed, the police promptly arrived at the scene and shifted the body to the AIIMS trauma center.
A preliminary investigation has been initiated, and authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Crime and forensics teams have been called in to gather evidence, and the police are conducting proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure).
As of now, the situation at the station is under control, and further details will be revealed as the investigation progresses. (With inputs from PTI)
