The incident in question took place on August 21, 2018, when an unidentified individual was discovered deceased beneath the Moolchand flyover.
The victim was identified as Dhani Ram, with a distinctive tattoo aiding in the identification process. Subsequently, the Lajpat Nagar police station registered a case of murder.
In the course of the investigation, it was determined that Chintu and his associate Dilip had engaged in an altercation with Dhani Ram while engaging in card games and drug use beneath the Moolchand flyover, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav said.
Tragically, under the influence of narcotics, the confrontation escalated to violence resulting in the death of Dhani Ram, he said, adding that following the crime, both Chintu and Dilip fled the area and sought refuge in Rajasthan, successfully evading law enforcement.
Acting on a tip regarding Chintu’s potential presence near Bhogal, Hajrat Nizamuddin, the police orchestrated an operation to apprehend the suspect. The operation culminated in the successful capture of Chintu, confirming his involvement in the crime.
