At least 20 individuals, including four children and 12 women, were saved from a Ferris wheel at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi’s outer north after it experienced technical issues, officials from the Delhi fire service department said.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, they said.
A video of the incident circulated on social media, depicting several people stranded on the Ferris wheel while others attempted to climb up to rescue them.
An official said that the fire department received a rescue call at 11:10 pm on Wednesday night, leading to the dispatch of two fire tenders.
All 20 individuals, consisting of four men, 12 women, and four children, were safely rescued from the Ferris wheel, said the official. (With inputs from PTI)
