An exhibition titled “Inscapes: In Search of a Place” is going to be held at Latitude 28 from December 18 to December 24. Curated by Premjish Achari, it’s a journey into art exploring landscapes. Instead of just being backgrounds, the landscapes become like doors into emotions and imagination. They show the complex feelings and fears within us.
Artists have often used landscapes in their stories throughout history and different cultures. But in this mix of creative expression, the landscape isn’t just one thing. It’s like a colorful mosaic, a mix of textures, colors, brushstrokes, photos, and drawings. All of these tell us about the amazing variety in this kind of art.
This exhibition invites the viewer into modern ways of looking at landscapes. It’s not just about the usual pictures. In these “inscapes,” nature isn’t just a copy of reality. It’s a way for the artist to show what’s inside them. Inspired by the Sangam tradition of poetry, where emotions mix with nature, we explore the meanings hidden in the landscapes around us.
