The dawn in the national capital greeted residents with a refreshing breeze following a night of dust storms and rainfall.

Delhi’s mercury dipped to 24.9 degrees Celsius, slightly below the seasonal average by 0.5 notches, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Expectations from the weather office indicate thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall throughout the day.

Over the past 24 hours, the city received a measured rainfall of 0.4 mm, with humidity at 62 percent by 8:30 am, according to IMD data.

Anticipated maximum temperatures hover around 39 degrees Celsius.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi registered in the “poor” category, scoring 207 at 9 am, per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

AQI ratings delineate: 0-50 as “good”, 51-100 as “satisfactory”, 101-200 as “moderate”, 201-300 as “poor”, 301-400 as “very poor”, and 401-500 as “severe”. Readings surpassing 500 are classified under the “severe plus” category.
