Shikhar Dhawan, the esteemed Indian cricketer, has announced his retirement from both international and domestic cricket, closing a remarkable chapter in a career that spanned over ten years. Debuting in white-ball cricket in 2011, Dhawan quickly became a prominent opener, forming a dynamic partnership with Rohit Sharma. The trio, including Virat Kohli, was instrumental in India’s success across various series and tournaments.

Dhawan reminisced about their collective accomplishments, stating, “We shared an incredible journey together. I distinctly remember how Virat, Rohit, and I combined for 100 centuries in just five years, with Ravi Shastri as our coach during that time.” Dhawan himself scored 23 centuries between June 2013 and 2019, while Kohli accumulated 49 and Sharma contributed 30.
In his career, Dhawan amassed 6793 runs in 167 ODIs, including 17 centuries and 35 half-centuries. He also notched up 8499 runs in 122 first-class matches. His last ODI appearance was against Bangladesh in 2022, and his final T20I was in 2021. Dhawan’s Test career ended in 2018.
