A 27-year-old food delivery worker was killed after being struck by a speeding vehicle while crossing Outer Ring Road in southwest Delhi early Monday morning, according to police.
DCP (South West) Surendra Choudhary confirmed that the victim, identified as Harendra, resided in RK Puram and was employed by the online food delivery service Zomato.
Police received a call at 2:45 am reporting an accident at an underpass near Munirka on the Outer Ring Road. A team was promptly dispatched to the scene, Choudhary said.
Officials indicated that preliminary investigations revealed the accident occurred as Harendra had parked his motorcycle and was crossing the road on foot when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene immediately.
Harendra was transported to Safdarjung Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to officials.
