Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday actively participated in the registration drive for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ in the Kidwai Nagar area. The initiative, aimed at providing financial assistance to women, was part of the AAP’s election outreach efforts.
The Delhi government, in its 2024-25 budget, had announced the scheme to offer Rs 1,000 per month to adult women. However, Kejriwal recently pledged to increase the amount to Rs 2,100 if the AAP secures a third consecutive term in the February elections.
Kejriwal assisted women in generating one-time passwords (OTP) for the registration process and handed them their registration cards. He was accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi during the event.

Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, eligible women in Delhi will receive Rs 1,000 monthly, while the Sanjeevani Yojana promises free treatment for citizens above 60 years of age. According to Kejriwal, the Mahila Samman Yojana is expected to benefit 35-40 lakh women, while 10-15 lakh elderly people will benefit from the Sanjeevani scheme.
The AAP has launched a door-to-door registration campaign for these welfare programs, with party workers, leaders, and government ministers visiting households to assist beneficiaries. During the drive, Kejriwal encouraged women and elderly individuals to keep their voter IDs ready for the registration process.

Observers believe the AAP’s initiatives to provide financial support for women and free healthcare for the elderly could significantly bolster the party’s electoral prospects.
