Delhi experienced a warm start to Sunday, with the minimum temperature settling at 26°C — 4.4 degrees above the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Relative humidity stood at 63 per cent at 8:30 am. The weather office has predicted a partly cloudy sky for the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 39°C.
Air quality in the national capital was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category at 9 am, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 147, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
The AQI scale classifies air quality as follows: 0–50 (good), 51–100 (satisfactory), 101–200 (moderate), 201–300 (poor), 301–400 (very poor), and 401–500 (severe).
On Saturday, Delhi saw a high of 39.5°C — 2.5 degrees above the normal for this time of year. The minimum temperature stood at 25.8°C, 4.2 degrees above average. Humidity levels during the day ranged between 60 and 43 per cent.

Friday brought a brief respite from the rising temperatures, as parts of the city witnessed light rain and gusty winds. Weather observatories in Narela, Pitampura and Mayur Vihar recorded 0.5 mm of rainfall each.
“A fresh cluster of clouds has moved into Delhi, bringing very light to light rain accompanied by gusty winds at speeds of 30–40 km/h. This system is expected to pass through the city with similar intensity,” the IMD stated.
