The city woke up to a pleasant Friday with the minimum temperature settling at 25.6°C, as the weather department forecast thunderstorms and light rain later in the day. The relative humidity was recorded at 81 per cent at 8.30 am, contributing to the sticky conditions.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30°C.
Rain swept through several parts of the capital on Thursday morning, bringing some relief from the heat but adding to the humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) noted that the maximum temperature on Thursday stood at 30.6°C — nearly 5 degrees below the seasonal average — while the minimum dropped to 23°C, 4.3 degrees below normal. Evening humidity levels remained high, reaching 67 per cent at 5.30 pm.
The IMD has predicted thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain through Friday night as well.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the ‘satisfactory’ category. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported an AQI of 74 on Friday morning and 62 by 8 PM on Thursday.

According to CPCB’s index, an AQI between 51 and 100 is considered satisfactory, offering a brief respite from the city’s usual pollution concerns.
