A 28-year-old sales manager was allegedly stabbed to death and his friend injured during a late-night altercation with a momo vendor and his associates in East Delhi’s Ghazipur area on Wednesday. Police have arrested three men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 10.30 PM when Vikas Walecha, a resident of Faridabad’s NIT Sector 5, and his friends went to confront a momo vendor named Salman, following a previous dispute. The confrontation, which took place near a wine shop in the Paper Market area, turned violent.
“Salman called his associates after being confronted. During the scuffle, Walecha was fatally stabbed, and his friend Sumit Sharma sustained a fractured leg,” said Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).
Walecha and Sharma, who both worked at a private company in Sector 5, Noida, were rushed to LBS Hospital. Walecha was declared brought dead, while Sharma is currently undergoing treatment.
A case was registered based on Sharma’s statement. Police have arrested Salman Khan (24), Azad Mishra (31), and Monu Mishra (28)—all residents of Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad. A 13-year-old boy was also taken into custody.

Officers said a knife and an iron rod used in the attack were recovered from the accused.
“Multiple teams scanned CCTV footage and tracked the suspects. Further efforts are being made to identify and apprehend other individuals involved,” DCP Dhania added.
The investigation is ongoing.
