From sculptures to language, migration to memory, the 8th edition of DCAW showcases diverse curatorial visions through exhibitions, talks, and workshops

The eighth edition of Delhi Contemporary Art Week (DCAW) will be held from August 31 to September 4 at Bikaner House, New Delhi. Organised as a collaborative initiative of six Delhi-based galleries—Blueprint 12, Exhibit 320, Gallery Espace, Latitude 28, Shrine Empire, and Vadehra Art Gallery—the event brings together some of the leading contemporary voices from India and South Asia.

This year’s programme features two special exhibitions. A sculpture show, designed by Amrita Guha and Joya Nandurdikar of Untitled Design, presents works by fifteen artists drawn from across the participating galleries. Alongside it is Taqiya Kalam, curated by Priyanshi S, which reimagines the traditional white cube as a domestic space and explores the role of language in shaping ideologies and everyday realities.

Each of the six galleries contributes a distinct curatorial vision. Blueprint 12 presents Mapping the Margin, a show that explores memory, place, and hidden social structures through textiles, printmaking, and photography. Exhibit 320 offers Where the Dust Settles, which reflects on displacement, migration, and ruptured belonging. Gallery Espace focuses on process-driven practices and the slow unfolding of recurring motifs. Latitude 28 introduces In-Between / Beyond, a large presentation of seventeen artists addressing themes of migration, myth, and resilience. Shrine Empire engages with politics, gender, nostalgia, and erased histories through works across diverse mediums, while Vadehra Art Gallery presents Intimacy / Ecstasy, a curatorial exploration of intimacy, boundaries, and transcendence.

In addition to the exhibitions, DCAW 2025 will also host talks, workshops, and public programmes designed to expand access to contemporary art and create a platform for wider dialogue.
