Delhi is experiencing mixed weather conditions on Friday with light but persistent rainfall, high humidity, and moderate air quality expected, IMD said
The day began at 25.9°C and is expected to peak at 33.6°C. Humidity stands at 71%, with wind speeds reaching 20.2 km/h. Rain probability is high at 87%, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.
Residents are advised to carry umbrellas or rain gear, as intermittent showers may disrupt outdoor plans. However, morning hours remain suitable for outdoor activities before rain intensifies later in the day.

Thursday’s Air Quality Index was 75, falling in the “moderate” category. PM2.5 levels were at 29 μg/m³, PM10 at 75 μg/m³, and carbon monoxide reached 578 μg/m³. While not hazardous, these figures may still affect individuals with respiratory sensitivities. The rain is expected to provide temporary relief from pollution by settling dust and airborne particles, though high-traffic zones may continue to show elevated readings. Mask usage is recommended in these areas.
Rainfall will continue over the next few days. September 6 is expected to see increased showers with a high of 34.3°C, followed by moderate to heavy rain on September 7, reaching 35.4°C. Rainfall will ease by September 8, though humidity will persist.
A brief dry spell is likely on September 9, with clearer skies and temperatures reaching 36.3°C—ideal for outdoor activity. Light rain is forecast to return on September 10 and 11, with highs near 34°C, followed by alternating sun and clouds toward the weekend.
