Retrospective exhibition marks Ashok Bhowmick’s five decades in art

Dhoomimal Gallery will present Liminal Lines, a landmark retrospective marking five decades of artistic practice by Ashok Bhowmick, one of India’s most respected painters and draftsmen, from October 5 to 15 at The CCA Gallery, Bikaner House, New Delhi.

The exhibition, curated by Professor Rajan Shripad Fulari, spans Bhowmick’s early black-and-white drawings from the 1970s to his large-format canvases and recent experiments in printmaking and sculpture. Over 150 works, including rare archival pieces from his 1974 debut exhibition ASHOK-74, will be on display, along with a limited-edition retrospective book titled Liminal Lines: Ashok Bhowmick Celebrating 50 Years of Artistic Inquiry and Human.

Public engagement sessions, artist walkthroughs, and panel discussions titled Manthan: Chai pe Charcha on Art will accompany the exhibition.

The exhibition will continue at Dhoomimal Gallery from October 17 to November 5.
