The Delhi Police has traced and recovered 205 missing children, including 154 girls, in seven months, with five of them being reunited with their families within just one to two hours of their disappearance, police said on Wednesday.
The achievement includes tracing several children who had been missing for five to six years, bringing relief to families who had spent years searching for them, they said.
“The recoveries were made through the sustained efforts of Assistant Sub-Inspector Shankar Lal Rar and Head Constable Ratan Singh, who jointly handled the cases and pursued leads to trace the missing children,” a senior police officer said.
Of the 205 children recovered, 154 were girls and 51 were boys. The team also worked on several cases in which children had gone missing five to six years ago. Despite the passage of time, the two personnel continued pursuing leads and following up on the cases, eventually tracing the children and facilitating their reunion with their families.
