A head constable from the PCR unit in Delhi has been charged by the police for allegedly assaulting his 11-year-old daughter in Dugrapuri Extension in northeast Delhi, officials said.
According to officials, the girl claims that this incident is part of a history of abuse by her father.
“The police received a PCR call at 10.30 pm on Thursday and promptly dispatched a team to the location. Upon arrival, they found the girl with visible injuries, and she was subsequently examined at GTB Hospital,” said the officials.
An FIR has been registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (common intentions) of the IPC, along with relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, they said.
The accused, who serves as a head constable in the PCR unit, is currently under investigation, police said. (With inputs from PTI)
