Delhi: Two men lost their lives and another was injured following a stabbing incident in northwest Delhi’s Azadpur Sabzi Mandi area on Saturday night, police said on Sunday. One of the alleged attackers has since been arrested.
The deceased have been identified as Kamal and Amzad. According to the police, the incident unfolded when the two, along with a third man named Abid, were standing near a traffic signal and were approached by two individuals. A verbal dispute reportedly broke out over a minor issue.
During the altercation, one of the assailants — believed to be between 56 and 60 years old — allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the trio. Abid, who sustained a stab wound to his right hand, later informed police of the events.
All three victims were rushed to hospital, where Kamal and Amzad succumbed to their injuries, authorities confirmed.

“Abid, described as a vagabond, is currently undergoing treatment,” a senior police official stated.
CCTV footage from the surrounding area was reviewed to track the movements of the suspects. One man, identified as 65-year-old Nand Kishor alias Thuiya, was arrested after fleeing to his native village in Rajasthan.
“He has a history of criminal activity, including cases of pickpocketing and attempted murder,” the officer said. “He was apprehended following a targeted search operation.”
Police added that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
