Delhi: A 28-year-old delivery boy has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a vagabond multiple times following an altercation in the capital, police said on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as 24-year-old Rohit, lived near Hanuman Mandir and sustained severe injuries to his neck and shoulders. The accused, Sher alias Kabir, was apprehended while attempting to flee to Goa, an official confirmed.
Around 2:30 pm, a patrolling officer noticed a crowd gathered near the divider at the intersection of Purana Qila Road and Mathura Road. Upon investigation, he found Rohit lying injured with deep wounds. A PCR van was called immediately, and the victim was rushed to RML Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case was registered under Section 103 of the BNS Act, and six police teams were deployed to investigate. CCTV footage was analysed, revealing that the victim had been riding with the accused shortly before the attack. The suspect’s electric bike played a key role in tracking him down.

During interrogation, Sher reportedly confessed that he had known Rohit for two months. On the day of the incident, Rohit had asked him to accompany him to resolve a dispute with friends. However, an argument broke out between them on the way, leading Sher to attack Rohit multiple times with a knife, resulting in his death, police said.
