In a tragic turn of events, a college student lost her life in a bizarre accident involving a tow truck in Greater Noida. According to police officials, the victim, 22-year-old Divyanshi Sharma from Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Delhi, met with the unfortunate incident last Saturday.
Sharma, who was returning home with friends from college in the Knowledge Park area of Greater Noida, faced car trouble. In response, she booked a towing service to transport her broken-down vehicle.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida -1) Ramkrishna Tiwari provided details of the incident, explaining that after the tow truck took away Sharma’s car, the driver retained the keys.
In an attempt to retrieve her keys, Sharma pursued the tow truck on foot. However, the situation took a tragic turn when she stumbled and her head collided with the crane of the truck. As a result, she fell to the ground with injuries to her face. Friends rushed her to a nearby private hospital, but despite efforts, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The tow truck driver hastily fled the scene following the incident. Subsequently, an FIR has been filed against him based on a complaint lodged by Sharma’s family. The authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
The untimely demise of Divyanshi Sharma has left her community in shock, underscoring the need for careful handling of such situations to prevent unforeseen accidents.
