A road rage incident in east Delhi turned fatal when a man allegedly struck another on the head with a liquor bottle and used the broken glass to slit his throat following a heated argument, officials said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday near NH-24 in Kalyan Puri after a collision between two motorcycles. The altercation escalated, leading to the brutal attack. Police have arrested two suspects—Pankaj Kumar Sinha (30) and Jeetu (27).
The victim, identified as 24-year-old tea-seller Ashish, was returning home after Holi celebrations with friends when he was attacked.

“On March 14, a PCR call was received at the Kalyan Puri Police Station regarding an assault near NH-24. The caller reported that two men on a motorcycle had attacked another man with a bottle, slashed his throat, and fled towards Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Dhania.
Police teams rushed to the spot and found that the victim had been taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
According to investigators, Ashish and his friend Vikas were heading home to Khoda when their motorcycle was hit by another bike carrying two men from Mandawali. A heated argument ensued, during which one of the assailants pulled out a liquor bottle, smashed it on Ashish’s head, and then used the broken glass to fatally slash his neck.
Both attackers fled the scene immediately, the police said.
A case was registered, and multiple teams were formed to investigate. The accused were tracked down using CCTV footage, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology, and call record analysis.
The arrested suspects, Pankaj and Jeetu, have prior criminal records. While Pankaj hails from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Jeetu is a resident of Mandawali in Delhi, officials added.
The investigation is ongoing.
