The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) said that a minor girl, who had allegedly been kidnapped from Fatehpur Beri in Delhi two years ago, was recently rescued from Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.
The DCW revealed that the 13-year-old victim had established contact with the accused online, who then purportedly abducted her near her school.
Subsequently, the accused took her to various locations including Punjab, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh, where she was subjected to multiple instances of sexual assault, DCW said.
The incident came to light when the girl’s mother approached the DCW about the kidnapping the previous week, reads the statement issued by DCW.
The DCW issued a notice to the Fatehpur Beri police for action and subsequently, with their efforts, the police located and rescued the girl on August 19.
The DCW is actively supporting the victim and her family and has called for the arrest of all those involved in the case. (With inputs from PTI)
