A man was fatally shot and another injured in two separate firing incidents carried out by three individuals in northeast Delhi within a 10-minute span, police said on Saturday.
The suspects initially targeted a person in Kabir Nagar, Welcome, around 1 am, where they shot at him, stole his scooter, and used it to reach a second location in nearby Jyoti Nagar, where they fired shots at a residence, a senior police official said.
In the first incident, Nadeem (alias Bobby) and Shahnawaz sustained gunshot wounds, though no injuries were reported in the second.
Both victims were transported to a hospital, where Nadeem was pronounced dead, while Shahnawaz is recovering, according to police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Rakesh Paweriya stated that the three suspects have been apprehended and are undergoing questioning.
Police first received a report of shots fired in Kabir Nagar. Upon arrival, officers found three empty cartridges and a motorcycle abandoned on the roadside. Investigation revealed that the motorcycle belonged to the suspects, who fled the scene on a scooter they had taken from one of the victims.
Shortly thereafter, at 1:26 am, another distress call was received from Jyoti Nagar, reporting shots fired at a house by three men on a scooter. The caller, identified as Rahul, stated that the suspects had opened fire at his home, but no one was harmed. Six spent cartridges and one live round were discovered at the location.
Another officer confirmed that the suspects were later apprehended in the same vicinity.

Preliminary investigation suggests the suspects had a financial dispute over Rs 10,000 with Nadeem. They intended to target him, but Shahnawaz, who was nearby, was also struck in the leg by a stray bullet.
Further interrogation is ongoing to clarify the motive behind both incidents.
A murder case has been filed at Welcome Police Station, with another FIR registered in Jyoti Nagar.
