A day after firing incident at the Tis Hazari court complex, the leaders of both lawyer groups allegedly involved in act were arrested by Delhi police on Friday.
The arrested individuals are Manish Sharma, the vice-president of the Delhi Bar Association, and Lalit Sharma, brother of the association’s secretary, Atul Sharma.
The police stated that further raids are currently in progress.
On Thursday, a local court sent three advocates to four-day police custody in connection with the firing incident.
The police reported that the firing incident, which occurred on Wednesday at the court premises, involved two groups. It was alleged that an official from the Delhi Bar Association fired shots at supporters of another association member. A video circulating on social media purportedly showed a person firing in the air while others threw stones and wooden planks.
During an operation conducted in Bhalswa, Swaroop Nagar, Haiderpur, Shalimar Bagh, and Vikaspuri on Thursday, the police apprehended three advocates named Aman Singh, Sachin Sangwan, and Ravi Gupta.
According to a police officer, the three accused belong to rival groups associated with the bar association. The police seized three country-made firearms, four live cartridges, and two cars from them.
